Beauty and Wellness Consultant – Walgreens This range is provided by Walgreens. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more. Base pay range $19.00/hr - $23.00/hr Job Objectives: Maximizes sales and brand awareness by providing exceptional customer care in a friendly, efficient, and professional manner; offers impartial, personalized expertise and advice regardless of brand and budget. Demonstrates a passion for beauty and wellness with inspirational knowledge. Provides customers with solutions for their beauty and wellness needs, including mini-makeovers and skincare consultations, emphasizing the customer’s total look. Delivers a distinctive and delightful customer experience and maintains overall beauty department standards. Job Responsibilities/Tasks Customer Experience Greets customers and offers assistance with products and services; resolves issues to ensure a positive experience. Proactively determines customer needs, informs customers of options, and shares best practices for customer care. Engages with customers to identify needs and direct them to appropriate products and services; provides warm transfers when necessary. Provides product demonstrations and consultations using tools such as the Skin Hydrometer and tablet. Leads and delivers in-store events to promote brand awareness and loyalty of Owned Brands and total Beauty, Wellness and Personal Care. Builds relationships with customers and follows through with authentic closure of interactions. Engages with omni-channel solutions to enhance customer engagement and experience. Locates products in other stores or online if unavailable locally. Operations Achieves or exceeds sales goals by assisting customers and modeling exceptional care. Reviews beauty business performance in collaboration with store leadership. Focuses on cross-selling and upselling by highlighting sale items and complementary products. Uses testers and samples to demonstrate product application and supports beauty promotions. Maintains testers and department hygiene; keeps the area clean and organized. Implements company asset protection procedures to minimize loss. Processes sales for customers and employee purchases at the cash register. Participates in meetings about programs, promotions, new items, and goals; demonstrates exceptional customer care. Maintains working knowledge of store systems and equipment. Ensures compliance with state and local laws for regulated products (e.g., alcoholic beverages and tobacco). Adheres to company policies and maintains respectful coworker relationships. Completes special assignments as directed. Training & Personal Development pursues self-development, monitors performance, and stays aware of beauty and wellness trends. Maintains knowledge of competition, new product launches, and industry trends. Attends meetings, seminars, and training; educates the store team on updates and learnings. Completes required training and e-learning modules; maintains professional appearance per guidelines. Models and shares best practices with other Beauty and Wellness Consultants and assists with training new teammates. Collaborates with Store Leadership to review goals and maintain product knowledge. Basic Qualifications High School Diploma/GED and at least one year of experience in a retail sales environment with sales goals OR at least one year of experience selling beauty or cosmetic products with customer care. Ability to work with minimal supervision and determine when escalation is necessary. Knowledge of beauty products and brands to meet customer needs. Experience building and maintaining relationships within a team. Basic PC/tablet skills. Willingness to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico). Preferred Qualifications Cosmetology or Esthetician licensure as granted by state authority. Experience building relationships with individuals at all levels of an organization, in business communities, and with vendors. Experience demonstrating makeup application and providing makeovers. Experience selling Prestige brands. Beauty school degree. Externship or prior experience with another retailer. We will consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.
