Job Title: Equipment Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Equipment Operator responsible for operating machinery such as forklifts, backhoes, and front end loaders in the shipyard. The role involves moving mixed products, turning piles, and preparing organic mixes while ensuring proper segregation. Flexibility is essential as duties may also include cleaning equipment, handling materials weighing up to 50 lbs, and performing light cleanup tasks.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment including forklifts, backhoes, and front end loaders.
• Move mixed products and turn piles within the shipyard.
• Prepare and segregate organic mixes.
• Handle materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Perform light cleanup tasks and maintain equipment cleanliness.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in operating backhoes, front end loaders, and forklifts.
• 2-3 years of experience using a backhoe, skid loader, front end loader, and forklift.
• Ability to work in a dusty, non-climate controlled environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and remain on feet for most of the day.

Work Environment

The work takes place in a non-climate controlled industrial production facility, both inside the warehouse and outside in the shipping yard. Be prepared for dusty and hot conditions. The facility is a tobacco-free zone, requiring any tobacco use to be off the property.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pacific Junction, Iowa.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
