Job Details Minimum annual compensation: $145,000 Location: Bel Air, CA Schedule: 4 days on, 3 days off / 3 days on, 4 days off – 12 hour work days Job type: Non-Exempt from overtime Job Summary This unarmed Executive Protection Agent role is based in or around Bel Air, CA. Candidates should have 3-5 years of relevant EP experience, be comfortable traveling domestically and internationally, and have multiple coverage experience. The Agent will assist with client security duties and may be responsible for caring for the client’s dog, including exercising, feeding, and reinforcing obedience. Prior K9 handling or military working dog handler experience is preferred. Job Description Ensure the overall safety and security of designated principals Drive principals to various personal and business venues and other off‑site assignments Demonstrate proficiency in use and proper maintenance of all equipment used in support of protective operations (vehicles, medical supplies, communications devices, etc.) Maintain an acceptable professional appearance Communicate with principals, staff, coworkers, and third‑party vendors using a customer‑service approach Adapt to various tasks that may be assigned outside traditional security operations Manage high‑drive animals with confidence and composure; safely handle dogs with aggressive or protective temperaments Ensure the safety of the client, staff, and others around the animal Capable of on‑the‑spot critical thinking and improvisation Strong emotional intelligence and self‑awareness Comfortable in a variety of social settings and capable of socially engineering desired outcomes Willing to submit to pre‑employment, post‑accident, and random drug testing as determined by management Work shifts that can include days, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime Provide close protection to principals at venues, events, business meetings, personal trips, etc. Conduct advance work for routes, venues, and travel trips Maintain physical fitness for long hours in the field and during physically taxing activities Engage responsibly to an active threat against the principal; proficient in defensive tactics to deescalate or actively engage potential threats Licensing Requirements CA BSIS Security Guard license Valid United States Driver’s License Current passport with more than six months expiration CPR/First Aid/AED certified for adults, children, and infants Preferred Education and Experience Certification from a recognized EP school Police K9 Handler or Military Working Dog Handler experience Graduation from a certified driving school is preferable Military or law enforcement experience is a plus Training in defensive tactics, counter surveillance, surveillance detection, and covert protection experience Active first responder, paramedic, or EMT certifications are a plus Regularly active in outdoor activities such as mountain biking, hiking, and ocean sports California CCW permit is a plus Required Skills and Experience 3-5 years of relevant EP experience Good understanding of the latest smartphone, communications, and collaboration app technology Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and as a solo practitioner Excellent communicator capable of professionally and successfully conversing with clients, superiors, peers, and vendors Physical Requirements Physically able to capture and detain individuals if necessary Prolonged periods sitting of 5+ hours at a desk monitoring surveillance equipment Prolonged periods of standing on your feet without a break 4-5+ hours Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time Must be able to lift or drag a human up to 200 lbs or more if necessary Must be able to bend, twist, stoop, crawl Able to respond to physical attacks, natural disasters, and evacuations Able to conduct regular exercise, feeding, and basic obedience reinforcement of the client’s dog Salary and Benefits Minimum annual compensation: $145,000 Paid sick leave PTO Holiday pay 401(k) Medical insurance – employer pays 100% of employee plan and provides a $150 credit for up to four family members Dental insurance Vision insurance Long‑term disability Life insurance and AD&D insurance Supplemental life insurance Employment with Keelson is at‑will, meaning that you or Keelson may terminate the employment relationship at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice.
