Machinist

Job Title: Machinist/Fabricator

Company: GH Induction Atmospheres, Rochester, New York

About Us: We design and manufacture customized, turn-key induction heating systems for

Industrial heat treating, brazing, welding, hardening and general-purpose heating.

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Machinist to operate a variety of machines to perform precision machining operations. The ideal candidate will have experience with manual and conversational programmed machines (Prototrak). In addition, braze, solder and fabricate copper coils for our automated induction machines. Also, a little TIG welding is a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate manual lathe and Prototraks to perform precision machining operations
• Braze and solder cooling plates for water cooled buss work.
• Manufacture copper coils assemblies 
• Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to determine machining requirements
• Select and install tooling and fixtures to ensure proper alignment and positioning of workpiece
• Monitor machine operation and adjust settings as necessary to ensure quality and accuracy of finished product
• Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance
• Inspect finished product to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards
• Collaborate with other team members to identify and implement process improvements

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a machinist apprenticeship program or equivalent experience
• Experience with manual and conversational machines
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good communication and interpersonal skills

Physical Demands:

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work in a noisy environment

Work Environment:

• Manufacturing facility
• Exposure to machinery, noise, and dust

• Competitive salary: $25-$32 per hour depending on experience.
