Staff Accountant
A real estate organization in the Pittsburgh area is seeking a proactive Staff Accountant to join its growing finance team. This role is responsible for a broad range of accounting activities, ensuring financial accuracy and compliance with U.S. GAAP.
Key Responsibilities:
•Manage daily accounting transactions, including income, expenses, distributions, and debt service, with periodic review of capital transactions.
•Complete CAM reconciliations across multiple entities and properties.
•Oversee timely processing of accounts payable and payments.
•Facilitate reimbursement processes for utilities, property taxes, insurance, and investor/owner distributions.
•Contribute to monthly close processes, ensuring timely completion of bank and account reconciliations.
•Assist with financial statement review, analysis, and preparation of reporting packages.
•Identify and help resolve discrepancies within financial data.
•Oversee special projects related to business activities as assigned.
•Prepare ad hoc reports and deliverables in response to requests from internal and external partners.
•Record and reconcile cash flow and bank activities (debt service, vendor payments, collections, intercompany transfers, payroll funding).
•Prepare annual 1099 forms
Requirements:
•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
•Minimum five (5) years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in the residential and/or commercial real estate industry
•Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and accounting software
•Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
•Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
•Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Schedule: The hours for this position are estimated to be 40 hours per week, normal business hours, Monday through Friday.
Location: East Liberty/Shady Side area of Pittsburgh (free parking provided); opportunity to work a hybrid schedule

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum of five years of accounting experience, preferably within the real estate sector.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards, including U.S. GAAP.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge in financial statement preparation, general ledgers, and journal entries.
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines.
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills to address workflow challenges.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
