Summer Camp Staff The Summer Camp Staff member will provide a supportive function for one of our Brooklyn, 2025, Summer Day Camps in the role of either an Assistant Group Leader or Group Leader. Reports to: Program Director Location: One of our Various Brooklyn Program Sites Hours: 35 Hours/Week; Monday - Friday; Summer (July and August); Non-Exempt Major Duties: Assist the Group Leader and Activity Instructors with activities, including sports, movement, recreation, educational activities, and arts and crafts. Plan and facilitate integrated learning, recreational, arts, and developmentally appropriate activities for youth. Collaborate with and direct program aides. Complete required documentation. Participate in training and staff development activities. Ensure a safe and engaging group environment. Qualifications: Minimum High School Diploma / GED Preferred for Assistant Group Leaders. Minimum High School Diploma / GED Required for Group Leaders. Two years of college or a BA strongly preferred. Must be at least 18 years old. Experience working with youth. At least 2 years required for Group Leaders. Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively. Ability to complete medical and DOHMH/DOE clearances and fingerprints. Ability to work from the beginning to the end of Camp, Early July until Mid August (the exact end date depends on the assigned camp site). Must have a commitment to work from a strength-based and/or youth development perspective. Application and Onboarding Timeline February 27th: Summer Camp Application Opens (Rolling Admission) March 10th: Information Sessions & Pre-Screens will begin (Rolling Basis) March 17th: Face-to-Face Interviews will begin (Rolling Basis) April 3rd: Selected Candidates will be notified and scheduled for clearances (Rolling Basis) May 23rd: Last Day to submit Application (May be placed on waitlist) June 2nd/16th: Trainings will begin for those who are cleared.
